Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has restated his commitment towards formulating policies aimed at  improving the well-being of women in the state.

The Governor stated this at a gala Night held to climax the 39th National Conference of the Inner wheel Club in Ede, Osun State.

He noted that the role of women in societal development and nation building as a whole could not be overemphasized.

Delivering a lecture entitled “step up and lead by example”, The Guest Lecturer and Executive Chairman, Women Advocate Research and Documentation Centre, Dr. Abiola Afolabi stressed the need for government at all levels to formulate policies aimed to Incorporate more women in governance to attain the desired growth across the nation.

Dr. Afolabi explained that there is the need for Political Parties to give more Women opportunities to lead in any given capacity for the nation to excel.
In her remark, the National Representative/President of Inner wheel Members, Mrs. Funmilayo Ogunsi said Inner wheel came into Nigeria sixty years ago for the main purpose of service to mankind in line with international standards and protocols.

She emphasized that the event was organized to enable members meet  with a view to learning from one another and to synchronize their activities.

Mrs. Ogunsi maintained that Women constitute a larger percentage of the Nation’s Population, therefore, when women are empowered, it extends to the Children thereby reducing the rate of Poverty in the society.

Earlier in an address of welcome, The State Chairman, Inner wheel Clubs, Mrs. Bola Odeleye called on young women to indicate interest in joining inner wheel to continue the legacy of serving Humanity.

Mrs. Odeleye also noted that the Award ceremony is targeted towards recognizing deserving members in the society who had made positive impacts on the Society.

Highlights of the event is presentation of Award to well meaning individuals including the Wife of Osun State Governor, Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, Yeye Dupe Sanni, Dr. Olubunmi Siyanbola, Deaconess Deborah Adepoju, Mrs. Titilola Ojuolape Ismail, Mrs Margaret Adeleke, Professor Caroline Adeoti among other distinguished personalities.
