The National Council for Women Society in Nigeria (NCWSN) Yobe State Chapter, on Thursday, marched to Yobe House of Assembly, seeking Justice slained Ammi Adamu Mammam.

Ammi Adamu Mamman was killed in a very controversial circumstance by unknown persons at her residence, New Bra-Bra Quarters in Damaturu, last week.

The husband of the deceased has been detained by crime scene investigators security operatives (police) for questioning.

The women were led of the NCWSN who is also the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in State Hajjia Mairo Amshi.

In an emotional tune, she stated that they were in the House of Assembly to seek Justice for the death of Ammi who she said ” is a mother, sister and daughter to her family and her life was cut short in manner she did not deserved.

She however called on the state Assembly to enact laws on Protection of Gender Base Violence in the state and other similar laws for the protection of human rights.

” I am pleading and appealing to you (Legislators) to make sure the perpetrators of this henious act were made to face the full wrath of the law” said Amshi.

Earlier the group were received at the premises of the House by the Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly Hon.Chiroma Buba Mashio, represented by the Deputy Speaker Rt.Hon.Ya’u Usman Dachia who is also the Chair House Committee on Security, Petition and Human Rights , along side principal officers and host of other Hon.Members.

The Speaker thanked the group for the peaceful procession and assured them of House’s readiness in making sure that the culprit were fish out and face the music.

A letter of demand was also presented to House and made available to newsmen signed by the State Co-ordinator Hajjia Fatima Kolo,mentioned some key demands:

“We seek Justice without compromise;
No body/government or Agency should interfere in the Justice system let the law take it’s course and Justice prevail;
Such human acts should not repeat itself on any woman in Yobe State;

“An end to gender base violence and all forms of abuse to female gender in Yobe State” the letter concluded
