The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a woman with 266 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
According to the statement, the suspect, Aisha Isah, was arrested by NDLEA operatives on patrol at the toll gate along the expressway.
The arrest is part of a series of operations recorded by the Agency across the country in the past week, which also led to the arrest of two Europe-bound ‘businessmen’ who excreted 200 wraps of cocaine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and seizure of large consignments of illicit drugs in Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Ondo, Oyo and Edo states.
On the Zaria-Kano expressway, a 68-year-old man, Ifeanyi Egwolonwu, was arrested at Gwargwaje, Zaria, with 2,770 ampoules of pentazocine injection, 100 ampoules of diazepam injection, 11,000 tablets of diazepam and 4,500 tablets of Exol-5.
While commending operatives for the arrests and seizures, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), charged officers and men of the Agency across the country to sustain the current tempo against drug cartels and not relent in their drug demand reduction efforts.
