The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike were sighted on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The two were seen shaking hands upon meeting.
Both parties it was gathered were present at the Villa for the National Police Council meeting currently being presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
It is not clear whether the meeting which has several governors in attendance will find a way of mending the estranged relationship between Governor Fubara, and his predecessor, Wike.
Their meeting is coming hours after lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly launched the impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara on Monday.
Recall that 24 out of 32 members of Rivers Assembly had signed a document to impeach Governor Siminialayi Fubara
The assembly ordered its clerk to serve the impeachment notice on the governor.
They served the impeachment notice on Fubara after impeaching and suspending House Leader Edison Ehie who is believed to be on the Governor’s side.
