First Lady Remi Tinubu has commended the super Falcons of Nigeria for their performance in the FIFA women’s world cup despite their Monday loss to England.
Nigeria super falcon had played a 0-0 draw with England after 120 minutes but crashed out after losing 4-2 via penalty shoot-out against England in the Round of 16 tie on Monday.
The first lady Remi Tinubu speaking with journalist at the presidential villa also commended their effort.
Reacting, President Bola Tinubu, in a tweet via his Twitter handle after the game hailed the Super Falcons for their display against England, insisting that they made Nigeria proud on the global stage.
He tweeted, “I must commend the effort by our Super Falcons @NGSuper_Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“Your brilliant performance did not go unnoticed despite the final outcome. You made Nigeria proud on the global stage!”
