A former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has said that the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is the best for the person to become Nigeria’s President.
According to Dino, Labor party presidential candidate, Peter Obi is indeed a good product but the time is not right for him to actualise his presidential ambition.
He added that the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, fits the bill more.
He added that the fact that Atiku has married women from the three major tribes, Ibo, Hausa and Yoruba, makes him a pan-Nigerian and the best person to unify Nigerians.
In a video posted on his social media handles on Friday, July 1, Dino said that based on Peter Obi’s view Nigeria’s problem at the moment is more than cutting cost of governance but the country needs a unifier.
“Peter Obi is one of the finest Nigerians who is intellectually mobile, he is a great Nigerian and by the grace of God, he is qualified to be a president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the nearest future.
” Mr Peter Obi, I celebrate your movement for a new Nigeria, but I want to advise that your time is not now, you have to wait for your time.
“I have listened to your arguments and your deliveries including your campaign but I can say that 90% of your campaign is dwelling on reducing the cost of governance.
“I want to tell you that the problems of this country are beyond just cutting the cost of governance. It is less than 1% of our national problems.
“You are a great Nigerian and I salute your political and intellectual sagacity. You are one Nigerian that I know that tomorrow, there’s a space for you. But for today, let us forget the social media drama and Diaspora euphoria.
“What we need in this country is to unite the nation. Nigeria has never been this divided in our national history. We need one character who has the ability to unite us as a nation.”
“The truth of the matter is that we need a unifier and a Nigerian than can solve the problem of insecurity and that will have intel from every security facet of our national life. We need a Nigerian that will get intel from Cameroon, Mali, Chad, Benin Republic and others.
“We need a Nigerian that has that capacity to solve the problem of Boko Haram, bandits, and others because he has intel from all the neighboring countries and that Nigerian today is Atiku Abubakar,” Melaye said.a
