A video showing the scene of the abduction of the sister of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu and her twin sons has surfaced on social media.

The victims were identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, 43, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul. They were reportedly abducted by gunmen on Wednesday morning at Elewura, in the Challenge area of Ibadan, Oyo State, while she was taking the children to school.

In the video, residents were seen gathered around the area where the incident reportedly occurred, with many expressing concern over the growing insecurity in parts of the state.

Adelabu’s Media Aide, Femi Awogboro, had earlier confirmed the incident in a statement on behalf of the family. He said the victims were forcefully taken away by armed men and that security agencies had been notified immediately.

“All relevant security agencies were notified and have since commenced investigations,” the statement said. “Efforts are ongoing to secure the safe release of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.”

The family described the incident as distressing but expressed confidence in the ability of security agencies to rescue the victims unharmed.

They also appealed to the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and provide any useful information that could assist investigations to the appropriate authorities.

The emergence of the video adds to growing public concern over the incident as investigations continue.
