Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has ordered the arrest and prosecution of individuals and groups parading themselves as members of security taskforce on petroleum matters in the State.

The Governor has mandated the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro to see to the arrest and prosecution of any person or group of persons found impersonating the State Government tagged petroleum security taskforce.

According to the Governor, Imo State Government is yet to constitute a security taskforce on Petroleum Matters therefore, anyone or group of people working on such capacity risks being arrested.

In his words, “there is no security taskforce on Petroleum Matters set up yet with terms of reference and job specifications handed over to anybody or group”.

“The public is advised to be wary of those parading as Government security Taskforce on Petroleum Matters and report them to the appropriate authorities”.

The Governor however assured that the State Government will do everything within its powers to bring to book, those involved in impersonating the Government and its agencies.
