The Imo State Governor, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma received Mr. Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the government of the Federation (SGF) and chairman, Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19. He was in the State on a working visit.
They reviewed the effectiveness of all the precautionary measures initiated in Imo against the spread of the Covid-19 disease.
The SGF seized the opportunity of the press briefing to appeal to Nigerians and Ndị Imo, in particular, to accept the covid-19 vaccine and reject all the conspiracy theories flying around which are all aimed at instilling unnecessary fear in people against its application.
He disclosed that the administration of the AstraZeneca Oxford Vaccine which has been approved by NAFDAC for use in Nigeria against Covid-19 will soon commence in the interest of Nigerians.
He stressed that the vaccination has become very necessary since it’s now obvious that the covid-19 is not likely to end anytime soon.
The SGF also noted with delight all the visible infrastructural development ongoing in Imo State in the last one year and encouraged the Governor further.
Governor Uzodimma extended his appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for all the support he has extended to the people of Imo State.
