Governor Hope Uzodimma has presented 381.4 billion Naira to the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) for the 2022 budget which reflects a 5.3% decrease from the 2021 budget.

“For the first time in the history of Imo State, the budget which captured the wishes and demands of the people as presented during the LGA stakeholders meeting with his Excellency the Executive Governor, the proposed budget was submitted with the Medium Term Expenditure Framework to aid the House in their consideration.

“The infrastructural deficits of the state, arising from longterm negligence and the ignorance disposition of a few misguided fellow, was captured in the 2022 budget to complete unfinished projects in the State such as the road projects and urban renewal projects.

“As can been seen across the State at the moment, construction of various roads have commenced in earnest to address areas of urgent need for free flow of traffic. The Governor, in his presentation, seeks to address every outstanding road projects in the 2022 budget of Wealth Creation and Recovery.

“With the harmonization of state revenue and blockage of all loopholes, the State Government is confident of over 70% execution without external borrowing while the rest could fall under the credit expenditures.

“ Having initiated developmental and industrialization policies, the Government has taken great steps in minimizing the dependency of the State on Federal Allocation and in transformation, a state with solid economy shall emerge.”
