Uzodimma Charges Leaders Of Oil Producing States To Shun Politics, Allow NDDC Work

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has called on all leaders and communities of oil producing States to shun politics and sentiments and allow NDDC to work.

According to the Governor Imo State and Other States have not seen sufficient signs of NDDC as before over the past four years due to struggle for leadership among others.

Governor Uzodimma stated this whwn he received the Interim Administrator and the CEO, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Akwa Effiong and his team at the Government House, Owerri.

While addressing the delegation ,Governor Uzodimma commended President Buhari for appointing an interim administrator to oversee the operations and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to meet the developmental needs of the people.

He further advised leaders and communities of oil producing states to shun politics, sentiments and support the decision of the president by allowing the Interim Executives offer their services to the people.

“It seems to me that politics and struggle for leadership led to the under-performance of NDDC”. Uzodimma stated.

He commended the Management of the NDDC for their thoughtful efforts as they donated 4 waste disposal trucks to Imo State Government to aid the work of the Environmental parastatal in keeping Imo State clean.

His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma further solicited for more developmental support in the reconstruction of the roads, tertiary institutions and infrastructure.

Earlier, Mr. Akwa Effiong, the Interim administrator and CEO, NDDC presenting his keynote address, advocated for a shared vision, shared responsibility and shared commitment inline with the shared Prosperity Government led by Senator Hope Uzodimma.

“Your vision anchored on the 3R mantra of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery inspires us to work towards the rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery of the Niger Delta region “ Mr. Effiong stated.
