The US Department of Syytate is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information about several Iranian officials, including the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

The reward was announced on Friday through the US Department of State’s Rewards for Justice Program, which is looking for information about people it calls “Iranian terrorist leaders.”

The announcement appeared on a poster shared by the program on 𝕏, formerly known as Twitter.

“These individuals command and direct various elements of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which plans, organises and executes terrorism around the world,” the poster stated.

The list includes Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, Esmail Khatib; Deputy Chief of Staff to the Supreme Leader, Ali Asghar Hejazi; Senior Military Adviser, Yahya Rahim Safavi; and Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni.

Ali Larijani, who is currently Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council, is also named.

The poster also referred to other positions, including the secretary of the Supreme Defence Council, the head of the supreme leader’s military office, the commander-in-chief of the IRGC, and an adviser to the supreme leader, but did not name anyone.

The programme says that people who have information about these officials, senior IRGC commanders, or their networks can send tips using encrypted messaging apps or through a channel on the Tor network.

It also states that reliable information could earn a reward of up to $10 million and possible relocation for those who provide tips.

This development comes at a time of increased tensions between the United States and Iran after a recent change in leadership in Tehran.

Khamenei became Iran’s new supreme leader on March 8 after his father, Ali Khamenei, reportedly died in the early stages of the ongoing conflict between Iran and a US-Israel coalition.
