The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC has released Babalele Abdullahi, the Financial director of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The release of Abdullahi, the son in-law of the former vice president was confirmed by Segun Akinwumi, the Atiku’s spokesman on his Twitter handle Tuesday morning.
“Atiku Abubakar’s son in-law has been released. That is the way to go. Thank you is in order”, he tweeted.
EFCC had on Monday said it had begun investigation of alleged money-laundering against Abdullahi.
According to the acting spokesman of the Commission, Mr Tony Orilade, Abdullahi is answering a case of money laundering of about 61.4 billion naira and would be released as soon as the investigation is concluded.
