A young man said to be a Final year Part-time student of the University of Benin has been shot by unknown gunmen outside the main gate of the University.
The shooting occurred in broad daylight on Sunday 10th May, 2026.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants used another vehicle to block a Mercedes-Benz GLK before opening fire repeatedly on the driver.
Videos from the scene show the victim slumped inside the vehicle, with multiple bullet holes visible on the windshield.
The incident caused panic around campus as residents, students, and passersby gathered at the scene.
