Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has revalidated his APC membership at his Onu-Ofukuru polling Unit in Umunaga, Uburu in line with the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise.
Speaking with newsmen after performing the exercise, the Governor commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the National leadership of the APC for the opportunity granted to some eminent Nigerians to be part of the government of the centre through the ongoing exercise.
He, however, warned opposition to desist from constituting security threats through making provocative statements and circulating fake videos of events that never took place in the state for their selfish political gains.
“Let me first thank Mr. President and all the National party leaders especially the Chairman and his team for giving us this great opportunity to do a digital revalidation and Registration of APC members in Nigeria.
” Like I said at the National Secretariat, it is a good omen that the South East is the one that is crying for shortage of materials and it tells you something, it tells you that we have since moved on.
“The idea of posting fake videos depicting our people trying to chase one particular group or the other out of Ebonyi State are all false and aimed at setting the State into crises, they must know that it is not the state they are setting into crises rather themselves because when you post this fake news chasing a particular group out of Ebonyi State whereas such is never in existence there could be a retaliation without knowing that these are all fake news, am appealing to them to desist from that, they can say anything about me, I am not perturbed, the more they say negative things about me, the more I punish them with many more projects”
Governor Umahi maintained that his administration will not be deterred by the negative activities of opposition elements as it is committed to bequeathing enduring legacies for generations of Ebonyi people.
“There is no amount of stories, no amount of negative stories, no amount of falsehood will make me to be distracted at all, South East has moved on, South East is APC”
He said the South East Zone has started reaping the dividends of connecting to the centre and announced that the Federal Government has already approved the sum of 6 billion naira for the commencement of production of limestone granules to support the fertilizer plants and another 400 million naira for empirical evaluation of salt deposit in the State for production of table salt and for commercial uses.
Also speaking after revalidating his APC membership, the former Vice Chairman of the PDP, South East Zone, Chief Austin Umahi expressed happiness for belonging to the ruling APC.
He lauded Governor Umahi for relaunching the South East Zone into the centre of Nigeria politics.
“The dividends have started coming and am proud to tell all Nigerians that I am proudly APC today, at the appointed day I will say so many things about the other side but for now I rejoice and I am glad that I am in the right place and that is APC”
The Chairman of the APC State Registration and revalidation Committee, Chima Uzo Onyekwere thanked Ebonyi State Government for the support to the Committee and expressed hope that the exercise will launch the State to the upstream of governance.
The State Working Committee of the APC and other Government officials witnessed the revalidation exercise.
