Gill Atkinson, British deputy high commissioner to Nigeria, has reacted to the indefinite suspension slammed on Twitter by President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.
In her reaction which was posted in a tweet she said the federal government must respect the right of Nigerians to freedom of expression.
She added that any action taken by Government must be measured.
“All Nigerians have the right to freedom of speech and the responsibility not to misuse that right.
“Any action taken by Government must be measured, proportionate and not to suppress basic freedoms.”
