The Widow of late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua, Hajiya Turai has appealed to the Federal Government to complete the e-library initiated by her late husband at the Government College, Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Mrs Yar’Adua said,” this is to remember my husband’s legacies and as an alma mater of the school and due to the importance of e-library to human and societal development”.

According to her, when completed the project would improve the standard of education in the state and country at large.

The former first lady made the appeal when President General of Keffi Old Boys Association (KOBA), Engr. Edward Ujege, and the National EXCO paid her a courtesy visit in Abuja on Monday.

According to her, “I am overwhelmed with the visit, KOBA is one of the most organised old boys association in Africa

“There is a need to put in the necessary effort in place to ensure that my late husband has a thumb of reference and remembrance  in his Alma mater, Government College Keffi.”

She commended the efforts of KOBA for remembering and identifying with the Yar’Adua’s family and assured them of support at all times.

Earlier, the President General of KOBA, Engr. Edward Ujege told the former Nigeria first lady that they were in her residence as a mark of honour , respect and to identify as well as remember the family of one of their own, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

The KOBA President General also briefed Hajiya Turai Yar’Adua of the state of e-library in Government College, Keffi named after her husband and seek for her intervention towards mobilising relevant authorities to see to its completion that will serve as a mark of honour and remembrance to the late president Yar’Adua.

On the entourage of the KOBA President General to the family of late President Yar’Adua were the KOBA National Vice President, Alhaji M.B Lawal, Secretary General, Mr Sam Israel from Nasarawa State ,the host of KOBA and Mohammed Bello from Katsina State just as highlight of the visit was presentation of gift to the former Nigeria first lady by the KOBA leadership.

Keffi Old Boys Association ( KOBA) is an association of old boys of the premier Government College, Keffi in Nasarawa State and the school has produced prominent Nigerians such as Late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and the present Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed among many distinguished Nigerians , who have excel in life both within and outside the country.

During the regime of late President Yar’Adua and when the school marked its 50th anniversary the then serving president and an old boy of the institution, president Umar Musa Yar’Adua was in Government College, Keffi where he laid the foundation of the e-library in the school but the cool hands of death snatched the seating President away where his demise hindered the completion of the project which was named after him.
