Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested four suspected terrorists during an intelligence-led cordon-and-search operation in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The operation, carried out at about 10:10 a.m. on 27 July, involved troops deployed at Ungwan Mailelle working alongside Community Guards.
According to security sources, the operation followed credible intelligence indicating the presence of suspected terrorist elements in Ungwan Mailelle village.
The troops reportedly apprehended the four suspects without resistance during the search operation.
The suspects have since been handed over to the 8 Military Intelligence Battalion (8 MIB) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Security sources said the operation forms part of ongoing intelligence-driven efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to identify, disrupt and dismantle terrorist networks operating across Sokoto State and the wider North-West region.
