The former lawmaker who represented Kiru and Bebeji, local governments in his Kano federal constituency before he was ousted by a pronouncement of the Court of Appeal from the Ninth National Assembly promised to announce his new political platform very soon.

Jibrin said he would return with full details of his reasons to dump the ruling party.

“I have done my best for APC. It’s time to move on. I will announce my new political party within the next 24 hours Insha Allah.

“I will make a formal statement in due course. Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin,” Jibrin tweeted, promising to provide more details later.

Sources said Jibrin’s decision might be related to the Supreme Court judgement on Friday giving recognition to the faction loyal to Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje since he belonged to the APC faction led by former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau.

There have been various insinuations however that Jibrin might be planning to join the New Nigeria Peoples Party led by former Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The source said Jubrin who belonged to the APC faction led by former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, took the decision following the Supreme Court judgement on Friday giving recognition to the faction loyal to Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
