The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate Bola Tinubu has vowed to remove fuel subsidies, stop estimated electricity bills when he becomes president.
Tinubu also promised to contain the security situation in Nigeria so that entrepreneurs can have an enabling environment for business.
He made the pledge on Thursday at a business luncheon with business owners in Lagos
Tinubu assured that Nigerians would have adequate electricity when he becomes president, but they would not pay estimated billing.
He disclosed this during his meeting with business owners in Lagos yesterday.
The APC candidate also said Nigerians would not have to experience the challenge of multiple foreign exchange rates if elected president.
“By all means, you must have electricity. And you won’t pay for estimated billing anymore.
“When I become president, multiple exchange rates will go away. Write it down.
“My discussion today is to inspire so that the promise of today can be a reality tomorrow. We promise you, we will bring prosperity to Nigeria,” he said.
On fuel subsidies, Tinubu declared that Nigeria would not continue to subsidise fuel consumption in neighbouring countries.
“How can we subsidise the fuel consumption of Cameroon, Niger, Benin Republic?
“No matter how long you protest, we are going to remove the fuel subsidy”, he vowed.
