Just like he did for the Super Falcons, President Bola Tinubu has rewarded each player of Nigerian female senior basket ball team, the D’Tigress team $100,000.
Tinubu also gave each of the players a new apartment for emerging champions at the just concluded African championship.
Additionally, each coach will receive $50,000.
The president equally bestowed the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON, on each member of the team.
Spokesperson to the President Bayo Onanuga revealed this in a post on his social media.
“No discrimination: President Tinubu rewards D’Tigress the way he rewarded the Super Falcons; a flat for each member of the team and the technical crew; $100,000 for each member of the D’Tigress and $50,000 to each member of the technical crew and national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) to both team and crew”
The development is coming days after the $100,000 gift for the Super Falcons sparked controversy.
The Super Falcons won the Women African Cup of Nations championship held in Morocco.
