President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his truest friend and confidante.
In a personally signed message released by the State House on Sunday, the President said his wife had stood by him with patience, grace and uncommon courage through every season.
“Àwọn àgbà sọ pé, ‘Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀.’ A good wife is her husband’s crown,” Tinubu said, noting that his wife has given true meaning to the proverb.
The President said Oluremi has borne his burdens, offered counsel even before he asked, and remained calm in difficult times, praying with him when the future was uncertain.
“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he said.
Tinubu noted that their home bears the imprint of her devotion, with their children and grandchildren growing under her prayers and values of faith and kindness.
He commended her compassion and service to Nigerians, from the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos to the Renewed Hope Initiative, through which she has reached young boys and girls, widows, elderly citizens, women farmers and persons affected by tuberculosis.
He added that for her, compassion has never recognised boundaries of tribe, region or religion.
“A long journey teaches a man the true value of a good partner. If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” Tinubu said.
He wished her many more years in good health and joy, as she marks her birthday on September 21, 2026.
