The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar met with the party’s Governors’ Forum in Abuja in order to fashion out ways in which the party will prosecute the forthcoming general elections next year.

The Chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal reaffirmed that the “consultative meeting’ was “on matters concerning the way forward.”

Speaking to journalists after meeting, Gov. Tambuwal explained that:

“we talked about cooperation and collaboration in prosecuting a very successful electioneering campaign that will result into victories for the PDP at various elections from the state Houses of Assembly, national election, Governorship and the Presidential election come February, 2023.

Without elaborating on the matter, Gov. Tambuwal told news men that the meeting deliberated on the choice of who will be Atiku’s running mate.

The Governors’ Forum, he said, also commended the leadership and members of the party “for a very successful national convention.”

“The national chairman along with the candidate came to thank the Governors for their roles at the convention,” he emphasized.

After the meeting, the former Vice President described the enthusiasm of the Governors towards winning the forthcoming elections and the subsequent task of reconstructing the country as “overwhelming.”

According to Abubakar, “my meeting with the PDP-Governors’ Forum today gives delightful assurance that the fabric of unity in our party continues to be strengthened.

“The energy to work together to win the general election and start the work of rebuilding the country is overwhelming,” he added.
