The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has assented to a law for the Establishment of Sokoto State Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (SEWMA)
Communication Officer NEWMAP Sokoto, Jamilu Abubakar made the disclosure in a statement.
The responsibility of the Agency is to Control Erosion, Food, Climate change, and Watershed problems.
This is part of the practical steps being taken by the Governor towards addressing all challenges relating to Environmental Degradation in all nooks and crannies of the State.
It could be recalled that the Governor has sent a bill to the State House of Assembly for a law for the Establishment of the Agency recently.
