The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man Peter Sinamai, 30, a resident of Sangere in Gombi Local Government Area, over the alleged murder of his biological father.
The suspect was arrested following a report received by operatives. Preliminary investigation revealed that he allegedly killed his father and disposed of the body in a well within their community.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, has ordered a discreet and thorough investigation into the matter to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The corpse has been recovered and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
Confirming his arrest to newmen, SP Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson of the police command, said the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
