Sokoto state government has promised to assist traders who lost unquantified sums of money as a result of an inferno that razed the foodstuffs and other perishable market located at Ramin Kura, a suburb of the state capital.
A Fire outbreak in the early hours of Wednesday has razed down an Onion storage facility at Ramin kura local government destroying over two hundred thousand bags of onions worth millions of Naira.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who visited the market on friday commiserated with the traders over the fire disaster that razed their stalls and assured them that the state government will assist them in recouping their loses.
While sympathizing with them the Governor also admonished them to consider the incident as the will of Allah.
Tambuwal also appealed to them to continue to observe safety measures, especiallly by making provision for the passage of vehicles, particularly fire fighting trucks in case of emergency.
He prayed to Allah to prevent future re-occurrence and compensate the victims of the inferno.
