Vice-President Kashim Shettima has described the death of the 16th Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Dr Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, CON, as a profound loss to Jigawa State and Nigeria.
Shettima, who visited the state on behalf of President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government, conveyed condolences to the royal family, the Gumel Emirate Council, Governor Umar Namadi and the people of Jigawa.
He said the late Emir belonged to a generation of traditional rulers whose influence went beyond the palace through peacebuilding, education, community development and contributions to national cohesion.
The Vice-President prayed to Allah to grant the late monarch forgiveness and mercy, and to give his family, the Emirate and the people of Jigawa the strength to bear the loss.
