Barr Tahir Shehu has been reelected as the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State after the conduct of State congress.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former Governor Boni Haruna, political office holders, and others attended the State congresses at Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola.

The 39 State Executive were elected following a consensus in what was adjudged a peaceful and orderly.

Declaring the results after the congress, the Chairman of the National Committee of the PDP State Congress in Adamawa who is the Governor of Bayelsa State, Duoye Diri congratulates the new Exco for emerging victorious.

He stated that the event has proved that PDP is united and formidable and believed that the new PDP Leaders will stir and pilot the affairs of the party in Adamawa to the pedestal of progress and development.

Diri applauded the Delegates, Party Leaders, and Stakeholders especially for ensuring the successful conduct of the Congress in Adamawa.

The chairman who is the returning officer for the Congress said PDP is pleased with the way Governor Fintiri has transformed the state through infrastructural drive and other sectors.

Speaking with newsmen after casting his votes, Governor Fintiri charged the newly elected State Executives to glimpse their election as a task towards structuring and building the party to be stronger than ever before.

The Governor described the Congress as well organized and manifested the measure of discipline and oneness which will strengthen party members and deepen democracy.

Fintiri stressed that the PDP administration will continue to accord priority to the welfare of youths and women and provide purposeful leadership to the people in Adamawa.

He urged people in State and the country to expect the best from the PDP as it is set to do what Nigerians lack under the All Progressives Congress APC led Administration if giving another chance in 2023.

Immediately after their victory Barr. D.D. Azura administered the oath of office to the new leaders after the congress results were declared by the returning officer and Chairman of the National Committee for the congress, Governor of Bayelsa State Douye Diri.
