Security operatives have arrested seven Fulani suspects allegedly responsible for the killing of commercial motorcyclists in Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The suspects were arrested on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 through a joint security operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, the local vigilante outfit OSPAC, and professional hunters, following reports of rising insecurity and targeted attacks on Okada riders in the community.

It was gathered that the suspects are currently held in custody at Omoku Police Station.

However, the development has sparked outrage as hundreds of angry youths stormed the station, demanding that the police hand over the suspects to them for instant jungle justice.

The arrests were made following the directives of the L.G.A Council Chairman; Sir Dr. Chukwu Ogbogu Shedrack to security agencies to double their efforts in ensuring that perpetrators of these senseless k!llings are brought to justice.

The chairman who was accompanied by security agencies’ convoy to hand over the suspected k!llers to the Police headquarters in Port Harcourt, made a stop over at Ahoada police station to address the angry crowd.

The Chairman pleaded with residents of ONELGA to remain calm and trust him to bring justice to the good people of ONELGA especially the law abiding citizens.

He also seized that opportunity to reiterate his administration’s ready to sincerely and committedly serve the people of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area while urging law abiding residents to go about their normal businesses.
