A 70-year-old man, one Alhaji Umaru Daura has been arrested by police detectives attached to Zone 12 Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Bauchi for defiling his neighbor’s seven-year-old daughter.
The incident happened at Kawo Rauta Village in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
A statement by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer Thomas Goni in Bauchi on Tuesday stated that the victim’s father, Alhaji Habu, reported the case to the police.
He quoted him as saying that, “the suspect was caught redhanded defiling my seven-year-old daughter.”
Goni explained that the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12 Bauchi, AIG Audu A. Madaki, has directed that the suspect be charged to court after completion of investigations.
