Excavation and rescue operation is still ongoing at a collapsed multi-storey building at the ever-busy Lagos Street, Garki village, Garki II district of Abuja.
At the moment officials of the FCT Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, Fire Service, and FRSC are putting efforts together to ensure the rescue and evacuation of more persons trapped under the collapsed building.
Unspecified number of persons have been reportedly killed following the collapse which was said to have occurred on Wednesday night due to heavy downpour.
Ikharo Attah, a former aide to the immediate past Minister of the FCT, who confirmed the development in a post on his Facebook page, said rescue operation is currently ongoing.
He confirmed that at least seven persons have so far been rescued and evacuated to hospital, while others are still trapped.
Official information regarding the cause of the unfortunate incident is yet to be released.
