Human rights activist and former Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, FCT senatorial aspirant, Aisha Yesufu, has called on Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the polls, saying another victory for the ruling party would amount to endorsing the country’s worsening security situation.
Yesufu made the remarks in a post on her verified X account on Sunday, amid rising concerns over killings, kidnappings and other violent attacks across the country.
The co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls movement said Nigerians have the power to effect political change through the ballot. She urged all eligible citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of future elections, describing the PVC as the most effective tool for change.
She also called on Nigerians aged 18 and above to register and participate actively in the electoral process. “The miracle people have been praying for is more accessible with their PVCs,” she stated.
Yesufu further alleged that a vote for the APC would allow current security challenges to persist. “Any vote for APC is vote for these terrorists to continue what they are doing,” she wrote.
Her comments come at a time when insecurity remains a major national concern, with several communities still grappling with attacks by bandits, kidnappers and other armed groups.
