The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh, has called on the Federal Government to stop the tide of terrorism targeting Christians, rebuild communities destroyed across Nigeria and return the displaced people to their ancestral lands.
The CAN President made these remarks in Abuja on Wednesday, November 26, while declaring open the 32nd Triennial General Assembly & 96th Anniversary Celebrations of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN).
Archbishop Okoh also urged the Federal Government to strengthen the country’s beleaguered security architecture and stand up to its constitutional responsibility of protection of lives and property.
To the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Archbishop Okoh urged solidarity with CAN in speaking with one voice in condemning the on-going Christian genocide in Nigeria.
The Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) is a Christian ecumenical body established in 1929.
It is made up of the Anglican Church, the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, the Methodist Church of Nigeria, the Nigerian Baptist Convention, the African Church, the Salvation Army, the United Evangelical Church, the Lutheran Church, Church of the Lord Worldwide, the First African Church Mission, African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, and the Student Christian Movement.
