A gas explosion in Sabon Wuse, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State has destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
Confirming the incident in a statement, the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) said the explosion occurred at the Tasiu Gas Plant on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at approximately 11:00 PM.

Confirming the incident in a statement, the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) said the explosion occurred at the Tasiu Gas Plant on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at approximately 11:00 PM.
The statement issued on Sunday by NSEMA’s Director General, Hon. Abdullahi Baba Arah, noted that the explosion happened during the transloading of gas from a trailer tanker to a surface tank.
The gas-laden trailer and the plant were completely burnt.
The fire also spread to Ngeil Grains Processing Factory behind the gas plant, where around 550 bags of beans and six bags of soybeans were destroyed.
Additionally, a car belonging to Abubakar Yakubu, which was parked near the processing factory was also destroyed by the fire.
Baba Arah, however, noted that as of the time of filing this report, no life was lost, adding that the fire had been put under control, while normalcy had returned to the site of the gas explosion.
