A popular crossdresser, ‘Abuja Area Mama,’ has been found dead in the Banex, Wuse II area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The crossdresser’s lifeless body was said to have been discovered along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on Thursday morning.
The spokesperson of FCT Police command, Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the discovery in a statement, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Adeh explained that operatives of the Command, who responded to a distress call from the area, immediately took the man to Maitama District Hospital where doctors on duty confirmed him dead.
She said updates on the matter will be communicated in due course.
