The Head of Catholic Church, Pope Francis, on Monday expressed sadness over the gruesome murder scores of worshippers at the St. Francis Church in Owo, Ondo State, by gunmen
Suspected terrorists had stormed the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday, killing scores of worshippers while injuring others.
Pope, who reacted to the incident on his Twitter handle, wrote:
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the horrific attack at Saint Francis Church in Owo in #Nigeria. #PrayTogether for all those affected by this act of unspeakable violence and for the conversion of those blinded by hatred and violence.”

Also his number two, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin wrote in a telegram to the bishop of Ondo.
Pope Francis was “deeply saddened” by the “horrible attack” in Owo
The pope assures “all those who are affected by this unspeakable act of violence of his spiritual closeness”, he said.
