The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Edward Chuka Egbuka has ordered a thorough investigation into the fire outbreak that engulfed parts of Kogi State House of Assembly complex on Monday.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP William Ovye Aya revealed this in a statement on Monday.
According to him the Commissioner already led a team of tactical operatives to the scene for on the spot assessment of the incident.
He added that the commissioner has also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to commence investigations in synergy with the Fire Service to unravel the cause of the inferno.
The House of Assembly, according to Aya, is to be cordoned off for preservation and to ensure adequate security.
