The Police Complaint Unit has summoned the Divisional Police Officer DPO of the GRA Police station in Asaba, Delta state over claims of falsely accusing a good samaritan.
A Nigerian man, Tomi Wojuola, had taken to social media to recount how he was almost framed for murder after rushing a dying man to the hospital.
He said he took the man, who had collapsed on the road, to a hospital but that sadly the man died and so he approached a police station to file a police report.
He said it was during the filing of the report that the DPO accused him of murder and threatened to deal with him. Tomi said it was the grace of God that saved him from the ordeal.
Reacting to the online report, the Police Complaint Unit via its X handle said the DPO in question has been summoned to the Force Headquarters.
