Lagos police recovers 75 mobile phones and 5 laptops abandoned by fleeing suspects during routine patrol in Ikeja
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have recovered a significant number of electronic gadgets during a routine patrol in the Ikeja area.
The recovery followed the interception of two fleeing suspects who abandoned two large “Ghana Must Go” bags upon sighting the operatives near Allen Roundabout, Ikeja, Lagos.
A statement from the command says on Sunday, October 5, the operatives inspected the bags and discovered 32 iPhones of different models, alongside 38 other smartphones of various brands such as Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honor.
Also recovered were five laptops, several smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, a Sorapad, and a number of damaged phones suspected to have been stolen from different parts of Ikeja and its environs.
Speaking on the recovery, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, CSP Shola Jejeloye, stated that preliminary investigations revealed the items were stolen property hurriedly abandoned by the suspects.
He urged members of the public who may have lost similar devices to visit the RRS Headquarters, Alausa, with verifiable proof of ownership for proper identification and reclaim.
