According to the Force, the Vigilant App is a citizen-facing platform developed by the NPF ICT Department in collaboration with stakeholders in the financial-services sector. Speaking at the launch, IGP Disu described the initiatives as part of the Force’s digital transformation drive. He said the Vigilant App will strengthen engagement with the public, while the CUG Network will improve internal communication and make policing more connected, responsive and effective.
The IGP stressed that technology must be deployed lawfully, ethically and responsibly, with due regard for citizens’ rights, privacy, data protection and accountability. He reaffirmed the commitment of the NPF to collaboration with relevant institutions and the private sector to enhance public safety and national security.
