Former Imo State Governor was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force on Monday night over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
The former governor was arrested following his alleged failure to honour previous police invitations in connection with an ongoing investigation.
Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Iniedu, confirmed the arrest to Channels Television on Tuesday, October 13.
According to the police spokesperson, Okorocha was released on bail after undergoing approximately one hour of interrogation.
He was subsequently directed to return to the Force Headquarters on Tuesday for further questioning as investigations continue.
Police sources disclosed that the former governor was initially invited for questioning on September 2, but the appointment was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers.
However, Rochas Okorocha reportedly failed to honour the rescheduled invitation, prompting police action.
