Osun State Police Command has confirmed armed attack on the Acting Rector of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, Dr Samson Adegoke on Monday evening.
Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, confirmed the attack.
According to her, “Yes, we have heard about it. We are currently investigating it and we will soon fish out the culprits.”
Opalola stated that investigations to unravel the masterminds behind the attack were still ongoing.
Adegoke was attacked by armed men at Eti-Oni junction a few kilometres to the institution’s gate on Monday evening.
His vehicle was riddled with bullets.
Narrating his experience, he alleged that the attackers aimed for his life, however, he escaped unhurt alongside his driver.
Adegoke was appointed Rector of the institution by former governor Adegboyega Oyetola after the July election before his appointment was reversed to acting role.
