Two suspected drug dealers, Uzairu Adamu and Zaidu Galadima have been arrested by police in Jigawa State.
The suspects were arrested on 18th October at about 1800hrs following a tip-off.
The State commissioner of police, CP. Emmanuel Ekot Effiom confirmed this in a statement issued to newsmen.
Effiom explained that the team of policemen arrested 21-year-old Uzairu Adamu from Yandutse village in Ringim LGA, with ten (10) and half bags of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in his room.
He said after interrogation, the suspect confessed to having received the exhibits from one Zaidu Galadima, a truck driver from the Malamawa village, Ringim area.
He said the two suspects were arrested and the case is still under investigation at SCID Dutse.
According to the statement, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had been on the wanted list of NDLEA.
The CP said the suspects will be handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation after which they will be charged in court
