Police arrest three suspects linked to the murder of Abia aged couple

Abia State Police Command has arrested three persons in connection with the killing of aged couple, Mr Jacob Udo and his wife, Mrs Dorcas Udo in Etiti-ulo Bende, Bende LGA of Abia State.

The Police also said that the killers of the couple carted away their property.

The three suspects who are currently under interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Umuahia, are being held in connection with the heinous crime.

The arrest of the suspects was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Abia State Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, who wrote on behalf of the Commissioner of Police in the state.

According to Abia State Police Command, the murdered man, Jacob Udo was 78 years old while his wife , Dorcas Udo was 73 years before their gruesome murder, adding that autopsy is to be conducted on the victims’ bodies.

The Police Spokesperson said that the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, has expressed his deep concern over the unfortunate incident, assured Abia people to remain calm as the mystery behind the criminal act would be unraveled to ensure prompt dispensation of justice.

“On the 2/10/2024, we received a report at Bende Divisional Headquarters that same date at about 0830hrs, Mr Jacob Udo ‘M’ 78 yrs old and Mrs Dorcas Jacob ‘F’ 73 yrs old, of Ndiwo Itumbuzo Bende LGA Abia State but domiciled at Etiti-ulo in Bende LGA of same State, were found lying lifeless in a pool of blood in their compound at the aforementioned address.

“It was further discovered that several properties were carted away from the house,” the Police said.
