The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, John Mamud for allegedly assaulting his mother in Konan Kuka, Mayo Belwa Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on 10th August, 2026 said the suspect will be charged to court on conclusion of investigation.
“According to preliminary reports, the suspect was apprehended following a complaint that he assaulted his mother at their residence in Konan Kuka,” the statement read.
“The Commissioner of Police has directed that the case be thoroughly investigated.
“The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
“The Command condemns all forms of domestic violence and reiterates its commitment to protecting vulnerable persons, especially women and the elderly within families.
“Members of the public are urged to report cases of abuse to the nearest police station.”
