Police arraign 14 suspects linked to murder of DPO in Kano

The Kano Police Command, has charged fourteen prime suspects with culpable homicide and related offences, in the gruesome murder of Rano Divisional Police Officer, late last two weeks.

Other charges against them include criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance, mischief by fire, criminal trespass and causing grievous hurt with theft.

The 14 suspects charged in connection with the DPO’s killing according to the Command PPRO SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, are Bala Yusuf, Bala Mohammed, Abdulrashid Ibrahim,  Abdullahi Salisu Kere, Sadiq Buhari and Yunusa Adamu.

Others are Musa Minkaila, Mamuda Mohammed, Ismail Mamuda, Usman Shu’aibu,  Musa Hassan Black, Abdulrashid Munkail, Umar Ado Nadada and Sabitu Abubakar, all of Rano LGA, Kano State.

He said, “Command is pleased to provide the following updates on the ongoing investigation into the unfortunate incident that resulted in the tragic death of CSP Baba Ali, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano Division, Kano, and damage to properties.

Kiyawa said following a thorough investigation, the Command arraigned a total of 29 suspects before Magistrate Court Number 20, Nomansland, Kano, in connection with the incident.

Additionally, 15 other suspects were charged with offences relating to the incident, including: criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance and mischief

The Kano State Police Command said, “In light of this incident, the Command urges the public to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
