The Nigeria Police Force and the Army have taken over Ojota, Lagos over planned protest by self-determination Yoruba groups in the area.
Well armed policemen and soldiers, with some Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) have occupied the area waiting to deal with anyone planning a protest in Ojota.
The State Police Commissioner had on Friday reiterated its stand that it would not allow the rally to hold and vowed to deal with anyone participating in it.
The Command in a statement issued by its spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the command and other security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps and Department of State Services have put measures in place to prevent any act of lawlessness, oppression and intimidation, of any kind, in the state on the said date, 3rd July, 2021 and beyond as Lagos State cannot afford to record and experience the violence orchestrated by some individuals during the 2020 EndSARS protest that led to massive destruction of lives and properties in the state.
