Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) Maj.-General Ibrahim Ali says implementation of the report of a 36-man committee set up by the military unit will bring lasting peace to Plateau State.

Ali said this on in Jos, Plateau State capital, when he received the report of the committee.

Plateau state has been plagued in recent times by ethno-religious crisis.

He said the report will assist the military, state government and other security agencies in achieving the desired peace in the state.

Ali said OPSH under his command has developed robust and positive non-kinetic strategies towards ending hostilities and promoting peaceful co-existence among residents of the state.

He said since the report and the recommendations emanated from the people, it therefore means that the end of crisis on the Plateau at sight.

Chairman of the Committee, Prince Robert Ashi, said the committee consulted extensively and received support from critical stakeholders in targeted communities.

Ashi said the committee also took into account the multi-faceted issues challenging peaceful co-existence resulting in the underdevelopment of the communities.

He appealed to all the stakeholders to support the Commander OPSH to fully implement the report for the benefit of mankind.

Representative of the Director-General state Peace Building Agency, Gayi Timothy Gayi, described the committee as all-encompassing with representatives from all the tribal groups.

He urged people of Plateau state to give peace a chance, embrace and forgive one another.

Present at the event are the Brra Ngwe Rigwe and Chairman Bassa Traditional Council, Rt Rev Ronku Aka, the Da Gwom Rwei of Jos South, Da Dr Nga Dangyang and Ardo Wada Waziri of Miyango.
