Plateau State Government has successfully airlifted 1,138 intending pilgrims from the state to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary of the Plateau Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, announced on Saturday in Jos that the final batch of pilgrims departed the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, via a chartered flight.

According to him, the board, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and agencies, made adequate arrangements to ensure a smooth exercise.

Dauda thanked Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his support and commitment to the welfare of the pilgrims.

He also urged the pilgrims to be law-abiding and mindful of the spiritual significance of the Hajj while in the Holy Land.
