.….Court Remands PFIPC Operator In Kuje
The Federal Government Wednesday arraigned Adeniyi Adeyemi, 38, accused of operating purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC, before Federal High Court, Abuja.
Adeyemi pleaded not guilty to eight counts bordering on forgery and impersonation before Justice Mohammed Umar.
Director of Public Prosecutions, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, said Attorney-General of Federation had taken over case from police and will review file, but urged court to accept existing charge and grant accelerated hearing due to public interest. He requested remand.
Defence counsel, Genesis Francis, said bail application filed January 12 had been served and cited ill health.
Justice Umar ordered remand at Kuje Correctional Centre and fixed October 12 and 13 for bail hearing and further proceedings.
The charge, FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, lists Adeyemi, “Femi Surname Unknown” and “Anu Surname Unknown” as defendants, alleging forgery of appointment letter dated March 8, 2024 purportedly signed by President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, claiming appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
Adeyemi had failed to appear earlier, prompting arrest warrant on application by police counsel Wisdom Madaki.
Presidency had denied PFIPC as official body. Adeyemi claims N400m was paid through intermediaries and N200m further demanded, and questioned reference to PFIPC and PEAC in 2026 Appropriation Act. Claims unsubstantiated.
